So, January is nearly over and you still haven’t started that diet/ exercise routine, plus you’ve read numerous articles on how diets/ detoxes don’t work anyway.
Regardless, my answer is Do it!
We all need to practice putting a break on our mindless eating and sugar laden diet. Like it or not we follow a mainly industrialised diet (nutrient-deficient ) and are paying the price: set to become Europes’ fattest nation by 2030 – we are already suffering the horrors of ‘lifestyle illnesses‘ such as high blood pressure, diabetes type 2, Alzheimers and Cancer.
A detox cleanses the palate and helps to rebalance sugar cravings. Even if you only last 3 days it will still result in correcting sugar cravings and may even help re-establish mindful eating!
There are many ways to detox!
This is not a diet. Instead just focus on incorporating more veg e.g make a giant pot of lentil and vegetable soup at the begining of the week and start your day with a green juice! Try swapping to brown carbs too. Cut down on sugar but you don’t even need to totally cut out the chocolate either -instead switch to dark chocolate. Follow the 80/20 rule and it really can be that simple.
Remember It only takes 21 days to make or break a habit!!
If you have enjoyed too much wine time try Milk thistle to soothe an overworked liver, if you are feeling bloated and lethargic try dandelion tincture or tea (its virtues have been extolled for centuries and now Dr Oz is a big fan)! If you feel your body is plain exhausted and crying out for nourishment incorporate FlorEssence tea for a full body ‘MOT ‘- results are astounding. For weight loss (who doesn’t want to lose a few?) have green tea daily to boost your metabolism – for a double whammy invest in some CLA Booster Caps
We might be still in the dark days of winter but make these few diet changes and you will see the energy light at the end of the tunnel.
